I’m not a writer. In the past, writing took me a solid month of drafting, rewriting, and proofreading. Even then, I’d revisit published posts months later and still catch mistakes.
AI doesn’t write for me. Instead, it acts as a sparring partner to help express what’s in my mind. I use it as a thought organizer to figure out what I want to say, and using it as a writing partner is the natural next step.
Here is how the loop works:
- Start with a rough copy or a raw brain dump.
- Share what you have with the model.
- Let the model structure and clean it up.
- Read through every sentence, make edits to ensure it sounds like you, and send it back for another review pass.
- Go back to step 2 and rinse and repeat two or three times.
Very often, the final text captures my exact ideas and voice. And if it doesn’t, I always go back. But the overall process of getting there is so much easier than going at it alone. I’m not a writer.
The key is the partnership. I use the model to bounce ideas around and get feedback. I never just say, “write X for me” and accept the output.
